1. Overview

This policy explains what information Prospect University (“we,” “us”) collects when you use prospect.university and our course services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we collect what we need to run the course, we don’t sell your information, and we don’t run third-party advertising.

2. Information we collect

Account and purchase details. Your email address, a password (stored by our authentication provider — we never see it), your first name if provided at checkout, and which tier you own. Payments are handled by Stripe; we receive confirmation of your purchase but never your full card number.

Athlete profile. After you unlock a tier, we ask for an optional profile: name, age, school, sport, social media handles and follower counts, content goals, recruiting status, and dream school. We use this to understand who we’re teaching and, for Pro members, to prepare your custom strategy.

Course activity. Lesson progress is currently stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers.

Technical basics. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the Site secure and working.

3. How we use information

We use your information to provide the Services: creating and authenticating your account, granting access to the tier you purchased, sending transactional email (welcome emails, magic links, password resets, receipts), reviewing athlete profiles to improve the course and deliver Pro strategy sessions, providing support, and preventing fraud or abuse. If we ever send marketing email, you will be able to unsubscribe with one click.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run the product, and only what each needs: Stripe (payments), Supabase (accounts and database), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting), Calendly (scheduling Pro calls), and Discord if you choose to join our community. Video lessons may be embedded from YouTube, which sets its own cookies when you play a video. Each of these providers handles your data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a business transfer (like a merger or acquisition), in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.

5. Athletes under 18

Much of our audience is high-school athletes. We take that seriously: the Services are not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are under 18, use the Services with a parent or guardian’s consent. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child’s information, and we will honor those requests promptly.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account, entitlement, and profile data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, meet legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. If you ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our systems except where we are legally required to retain it (for example, purchase records).

7. Your choices and rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal information, or close your account, by emailing cullen@prospect.university. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights to your data (such as access, portability, or objection to certain processing) — we honor reasonable requests regardless of where you’re located.

8. Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side access controls, and secret credentials that are never exposed to the browser. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
